The Vertical Cutting Dryer is designed for efficient treatment of oil-based and synthetic-based drilling cuttings. It removes excess drilling fluids from wet cuttings using high-speed centrifugal force, helping reduce waste volume and recover valuable drilling mud for reuse.
It is widely used in oil and gas drilling operations to improve waste handling efficiency, reduce disposal costs, and support environmental compliance.
The system consists of a vertical rotating basket, feeding system, scraper assembly, drive motor, and discharge system.
The basket is designed for high-speed rotation and efficient separation. The scraper is adjustable and made from wear-resistant materials to handle continuous operation.
The drive system ensures stable rotation speed, while the feeding system distributes cuttings evenly for consistent processing.
Wet drill cuttings are fed into the basket of the dryer. Under high-speed rotation, centrifugal force pushes liquid phase through the screen while solids are retained inside. The discharged cuttings contain significantly less drilling fluid, while the recovered fluid is collected and returned to the mud system for reuse.
During drilling operations, large volumes of cuttings are brought to the surface along with oil-based or synthetic-based drilling fluids. A vertical cutting dryer is used to separate and recover the liquid phase from these cuttings.
The system helps reduce the oil on cuttings (OOC), allowing recovered drilling fluids to be reused in the mud system while minimizing waste volume sent for disposal.
Vertical cutting dryers are available in different processing capacities depending on drilling conditions and waste volume.
The equipment can be integrated into complete drilling waste management systems or used as a standalone unit depending on project requirements.
Customization is available for offshore platforms, land rigs, and high-capacity drilling operations.
