The Vacuum Degasser is installed between the shale shaker and downstream desanding equipment to remove entrained gas from drilling fluid.
A water-ring vacuum pump creates negative pressure inside the degassing vessel. The self-priming system draws mud into the vessel, where a rotating impeller spreads the fluid and releases trapped gas. The gas is separated from the mud and discharged from the vessel, while the degassed mud moves on to the next stage of solids control.
Removing entrained gas helps keep mud density and other drilling fluid properties stable during downstream treatment. The rotating impeller also provides continuous mud agitation inside the vessel.
