Shale Shaker Screens Shipment to Argentina Oilfield
A batch of 1070 × 570 mm pyramid-wave PMD shale shaker screens is packed and ready for shipment to an oilfield project in Argentina.
The order includes API 140, API 170 and API 200 screen grades. The screens are used on the shale shaker to remove drilled cuttings from returning drilling fluid.

Screen Details
The screens use a multi-layer 304/316 stainless steel mesh composite construction with a pyramid-wave profile. The wave design increases the usable screening area within the same panel footprint.
The 1070 × 570 mm panel size was supplied according to the customer's specified shaker configuration. The hook-edge construction provides a practical format for routine screen installation and replacement.
The three API grades offer different levels of separation:
- API 140 — coarser screening
- API 170 — intermediate screening
- API 200 — finer screening
The required grade depends on the solids separation target and the drilling fluid being processed.

Value in the Drilling Process
The shale shaker is the first major solids-separation stage after drilling fluid returns from the well. Removing coarse drilled solids here reduces the solids load carried into downstream equipment.
Efficient solids removal
The pyramid-wave profile increases the usable screening area within the panel footprint, giving the shaker more active screening surface as returning mud passes across the deck.
Lower downstream solids load
Removing coarse cuttings at the shaker reduces the amount of solids entering desanders, desilters and centrifuges. This reduces wear on downstream equipment and can lower maintenance requirements.
Stable shaker performance
A suitable API grade and a clean, properly tensioned screen help maintain the required flow through the shaker and support stable solids control.
Easier screen maintenance
Screen wear, damage or excessive blinding can affect shaker performance. A correctly matched replacement screen makes routine replacement easier and helps avoid unnecessary interruptions to mud treatment.
Screen selection involves more than mesh size. Panel dimensions, shaker compatibility, hook configuration and API classification all need to match the application.
Production and Shipment
TR Solids Control manufactures shale shaker screens in API classifications from API 20 to API 400, with different panel sizes and screen constructions for solids-control applications.
For this order, the screens are checked against the specified dimensions, API grade and construction before packing. Each screen is packed in a carton and then secured in a fumigated export wooden case for overseas transportation.

TR has supplied shaker screens and other solids-control equipment to customers in South America, the Middle East, Africa, Australia and other international markets.
