TR Mud Hopper, also known as a Venturi mud mixing hopper, adds dry drilling fluid materials directly into the mud system. A pressurized mud stream enters the mixing chamber at high velocity and creates the suction needed to draw powdered material into the flow.
Bentonite, barite, and other powdered additives enter the mud stream through the hopper inlet. The high-velocity flow wets and disperses the material before the mixed fluid continues through the mud circulation line.
The hopper is supplied by a centrifugal pump or another pressurized mud line. Its jet mixing action comes from the circulating fluid, so no separate drive motor is required.
