TR Solids Control at EGYPS 2018 Field Conversations Behind the Booth
In February 2018, TR Solids Control joined the Egypt Petroleum Show (EGYPS 2018) in Cairo, bringing its drilling fluid equipment and solids control solutions to one of the important oil and gas events in the Middle East.
The exhibition brought together drilling contractors, oilfield service companies, equipment suppliers, and industry professionals from different regions. For TR, it was more than a chance to display products. “How does it perform in our working conditions?”
Many visitors were interested in practical issues rather than only technical specifications. They asked about screen life in abrasive formations, solids removal efficiency, drilling fluid recovery, and equipment reliability during long-term operation.
For shale shaker applications, customers focused on details such as vibration performance, screen selection, feed distribution, and maintenance. These are the areas that directly affect drilling efficiency and operating costs.
The TR team shared experience from different drilling applications and discussed how equipment configuration can be adjusted according to mud properties, formation conditions, and job requirements.
Showing Complete Solids Control Solutions
The equipment displayed at EGYPS 2018 represented different stages of the drilling fluid treatment process.
The Mud Shale Shaker attracted attention as the first stage of solids removal. By separating larger cuttings from drilling fluid, it helps protect downstream equipment and maintain better mud performance.
The Desander and Desilter System demonstrated TR’s solution for removing finer solids through hydrocyclone separation. When combined with shale shakers and centrifuges, it helps improve the overall efficiency of the solids control system.
The Mud Centrifuge was another important product shown at the exhibition. Visitors discussed its application in fine solids control, drilling fluid recovery, and reducing unnecessary fluid losses.
TR also displayed centrifugal pumps and replacement shaker screens, showing its ability to provide not only individual equipment but also supporting components for complete drilling fluid management systems.
