Mud Desander also called Drilling Fluid Desander. It is composed of hydraulic desander hydrocyclone and cyclone pipe. TRCS series muddesander uses centrifugal force to separate. It uses centrifugal pump to supply mud, then the mud flow into hydrocyclone along tangent of cyclone, and themud's structure was destroyed under the action of centrifugal force.
Mud desander uses centrifugal force to separate solid particles from drilling fluid. Driven by a centrifugal sand pump, mud enters the hydrocyclone tangentially.Under high centrifugal force, solids (45-75um) sink along the inner wall and discharge to the shale shaker, while clean fluid exits the top.
The Mud Desander is a solids control device used to remove medium-sized solid particles from drilling fluids in oil and gas drilling operations. It is typically installed after the shale shaker to improve drilling mud quality and protect downstream equipment such as desilters and decanter centrifuges.
TR Solids Control provides high-efficiency mud desanders in oil drilling mud systems, helping operators maintain clean and reusable drilling fluids.
Working Principle
Drilling fluid is pumped into the desander inlet and enters the hydrocyclone at high velocity.
Inside the cone, centrifugal force separates solids from the liquid phase. Heavier particles move toward the cone wall and are discharged from the underflow outlet, while clean fluid exits through the overflow outlet.
This continuous separation process improves mud quality and reduces solids load in the circulation system.
Mud desanders are available in different capacities depending on drilling requirements.
Cone sizes, quantities, and inlet pressure can be customized based on system design.
The unit can be used independently or integrated into a complete mud cleaning or recycling system.
